Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What documents can you translate for me?
A: I specialise in personal and official document translation, including:
- Birth, marriage, and death certificates
- Driver’s licences and NZTA documents
- Police clearance certificates and legal paperwork
- Diplomas, transcripts, and academic records
- Medical documents and reports
- Business and financial reports
Q: Will my translation be accepted by government departments and institutions?
A: Yes. My translations are regularly accepted by the Department of Internal Affairs, Immigration New Zealand (INZ), NZTA, universities, and other government and legal bodies throughout New Zealand.
Q: Do you need the original document, or is a copy okay?
A: A clear scanned copy or a sharp, well-lit photo of your document is all I need — there’s no requirement to send the physical original.
Q: Can you translate handwritten documents?
A: Yes, provided the handwriting is clear and legible, and it’s supplied as a scanned PDF or a high-resolution photo so nothing gets misread.
Q: What languages do you translate between?
A: I translate between Thai and English in both directions, as a native speaker of Thai with more than 20 years living and working professionally in New Zealand.
Q: How long will my translation take?
A: My standard turnaround is 3 working days. If you need it faster, a 24-hour rush service is available for an additional fee — just let me know your deadline when you request a quote.
Q: How much will my translation cost?
A: Every project is quoted individually based on document type, page count, complexity, and turnaround time — and you’ll find my rates very reasonable. Get in touch by email or via the LINE App for a free, no-obligation quote.
Q: How do I pay, and when?
A: I accept payment by direct bank transfer or PayPal, due within one day of you receiving your completed translation.
Q: What format will I receive my translation in?
A: Your completed translation is delivered as a scanned PDF by email, ready to print or forward directly to the institution that needs it.
Q: Is my document kept confidential?
A: Absolutely. Every project — personal or business — is treated as strictly confidential, and I never share client documents with third parties.
Q: Do you translate for businesses as well as individuals?
A: Yes. I regularly work with businesses, law firms, and other organisations on translations of:
- Contracts and agreements
- Insurance policies and audit reports
- Financial and legal documents
- Technical manuals and reports
- Marketing and website content
- Product labels and packaging
Q: Will my translation be checked before I receive it?
A: Yes. Every translation is proofread for grammar and accuracy before delivery, so you receive a polished, ready-to-use document.
Q: Can I request revisions if something needs adjusting?
A: Yes — if any part of your translated document needs clarification or a minor adjustment, I’m happy to review it with you after delivery.
